Calimex USA Corporation obtains FDA 510(k) clearance for Picture-ID on 1/11/2010.
Picture-ID is a multi-lingual, biometrics donor identity verification software that incorporates self-administrated electronic donor history questionnaire. It positively verifies donor identity by fingerprint and donor picture match, thereby reducing ineligible and duplicate donors at source. It can connect to backend donor management systems to edit and update demographic data, check eligibility and register a visit.
Picture-ID provides donor convenience to complete the donor health history form securely from home or other places electronically on day of donation, come to the blood center, positively identify self, review, sign the form and donate, thereby significantly reducing donor wait-time at the blood centers. Donor and staff electronic signatures and form workflow provides options for a paperless process.
